Golf Courses in Pompano Beach

Pompano Beach in sunny South Florida is known as one of the premier golfing destinations in a state known for fantastic golf. Located on Florida's Gold Coast, 10 miles north of Fort Lauderdale, the relaxing beaches, and beautiful natural landscape make for some incredible golfing. With nearly a dozen excellent courses, Pompano Beach has a wide variety of options for any avid golfer!

Pompano Beach Municipal Golf Course

Situated about a mile from the Atlantic Coastline is the Pompano Beach Municipal Golf Course. The Municipal Course was designed by legendary golf course architects Red Lawrence and Robert Von Hagge. The City's golf facility features two 18-hole courses with plenty of ponds and woodland. The Palms Course is 6,035 yards, with a rating of 68.6 and a slope of 111. The Pines Course recently redesigned in 2013 by Greg Norman, is 6,598 yards, and features Bermuda fairways and TifEagle greens. Golfers can reserve both 9 and 18-hole tee times.

Frank Sinatra played Palm-Aire along with many other A-List Celebrities.

The renowned Palm-Aire Country Club was founded all the way back in 1959 and boasts a rich history of celebrity and pro athlete clientele. It's reported that the legendary Sam Snead once set a course record of 65 back in 1962. In the early seventies, Hollywood royalty including Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor, and Jerry Lewis would stay and play at the famous hotel and golf course. Billy Jean King even did a stint as the resident tennis pro!

Flash Forward to today and the Palm-Aire boasts three 18-hole courses which are all open to the public. The Championship Course know as "Mighty" Oaks, is a monster 6,910 yards and has a rating of 73.3. The Palms Course is also daunting at 6,944 yards and a rating of 73.3. The Cypress Course plays 6,810 yards with a rating of 74.5. All of Palm-Aires courses are dotted with beautiful oak, palm, and cypress trees (now you know how the courses got their names!). Also featured at the Country Club are two driving ranges, two fully equipped pro shops, and a golf academy. Seasonal rates apply.


Crystal Lake Golf Club

Another gem of a course is Crystal Lake Golf Club. Crystal Lake sits on the border between Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach. The course was designed by another legendary course architect, Rees Jones. Crystal Lake plays a very challenging 6,953 yards, with narrow fairways lined with pine and palm trees. There is also a lake to provide some tricky drives and approach shots. Crystal Lake has a rating of 73.5 and a slope of 135. Daily rates change seasonally.
